The NSA Smythe Championship is a stand alone regatta and is no longer the first rung in the US Sailing Junior Singlehanded Championship (Smythe) ladder. The US Sailing Junior Singlehanded Championship ladder begins with the Area A Smythe to be held during the New Bedford Junior Regatta.

NSA REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION
Failure of an entrant to meet ALL of these requirements will result in that entrant not being allowed to race.
1. Clubs sending entrants to this event, MUST notify the Event Chairperson NO LATER THAN
ONE WEEK (7 days) PRIOR TO THE EVENT of their intention. Failure to do so, may result
in the entrant(s) not being allowed to race. Individuals may participate in ONLY ONE NSA
sponsored event. Failure to comply may result in loss of competition privileges. Failure to
comply with any or all of the above, may result in the entrant not being allowed to race.
2. Age – men and women 13 – 18 years of age in the calendar year.
3. Each participant must be a member of the yacht club or sailing association sponsoring them and that YC or SA must be in good standing in the NSA.
4. Each participant MUST bring to the regatta the following:
(a) a NSA Junior Race Entry Form, legibly completed and SIGNED BY A FLAG OFFICER
OR ADULT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PARTICIPANT
(b) a completed Medical Form attached to the Entry Form and submitted to the Event
Chairman no later than the skippers’ meeting.

5. Attendance at the Skippers’ Meeting is mandatory.
6. If the Leiter and Smythe events are held at the same time, women participants must declare
which event they will be racing in at the time of the skippers’ meeting.
An Entry Fee of $35 per entrant for this Championship Event will be paid by the sponsoring clubs. NSA will bill each club directly following the event.
