GENERAL INFORMATION:
- Different from prior years, in 2011 there will not be NSA regional Midget events and ladders.
There will be this Midget Championship. - Clubs sending a team to this event must notify the Event Chairman of their intent to compete no later than Tuesday, July 26th. Failure to do so may result in the team not being allowed to race. There will be four spots reserved per NSA region (16 total) until Tuesday, July 19th, and those spots will be allocated in the order in which the Event Chairman receives notification of intention to compete. After July 19th, teams will be allowed into the regatta based on the order in which they have indicated their intent to compete, regardless of region, up to a maximum of 16 teams. It is our intent to allow in 16 teams if demand exists.
- Initially clubs will only be allowed to reserve a spot for one team per club. However, if spots remain as of July 26th, we may allow clubs to bring an additional team. if that is the case we will inform participating clubs.
- Age - No participant may reach his/her 14th birthday before September 1st.
- 10:30 AM Skippers' Meeting
- To compete in this event, each participant MUST be a member of a NSA yacht club or sailing Association.
- Each participant MUST bring an NSA Midget entry form signed by a Flag Officer or adult responsible for the participant AND a Medical form, both completely and clearly filled out. Failure to provide these documents will result in a team not being allowed to compete.
- Each sailor MUST wear a US Coast Guard Approved life jacket with a whistle attached while on or near the water.
- The Southport Yacht Club will provide privately owned boats for this event. Participating teams will not bring their own boats for this event.
